Andrew Schulz was born in Indianapolis, IN and began writing at the age of seven. Due to his love of soap operas and classic Doctor Who, he followed their format by writing every story as a serial. After a twenty year detour as an actor in both theater and television, he received his master's degree from The Actors Studio Drama School where he was encouraged to create his own stories. When battling mental illness, he found himself unable to continue his creative life on stage and returned to his roots of writing, using many of the techniques he'd learned at The Actors Studio.
The Homos of Harmony Haven began as an idea in 2017 and he released it in a daily written format in 2020. Now, even as he's releasing the 2nd year of the series in 2021, he's also recording the first year's chapters and releasing them as a daily podcast serial audiobook!
He recently moved from New York City to the tiny hamlet of Shrub Oak, NY with his husband of six years and his two dogs - a Beagle and a German Shepard who are loving their new lives with a giant fenced front yard! Andrew is also a certified yoga and meditation instructor, loves reading and imbibing the occasional glass of champagne. He's also actively working to #endthestigma of mental illness by speaking openly about it whenever possible to help educate others as he's been educated over the past four years by going through it.
Although he's set on releasing The Homos of Harmony Haven in a daily serialized format, he is working on formatting into a novel as well, and looking toward the possibility of getting it published. Stay tuned!
